Tips To Make Your Job Hunt Easier

Writing Thank You Notes After The Interview
One thing a lot of people neglect to do is to send a thank you note after an interview. While it may seem a bit “old fashioned”, it’s actually quite professional and will go a long way towards keeping your name on the lips of the hiring managers as well as show your interest in the job. Who knows, a simple thank you note could be the thing that sets you apart from the others and lands you the job.

But what should an interview thank you note look like?

First of all, you should buy some good quality letter paper to send it on - nothing fancy or with a pattern just plain white or manilla paper but of high grade. Thank you notes should be printed from the computer and send via mail to the HR manager or person who first contacted you for the interview.

You want your thank you letter to be brief and to the point - very professional. Make sure the spelling and grammar is perfect and include your contact information again so they can have no excuses not to call you up and offer you the job!

Thank the interviewers for their time and let them know why you think you are a perfect fit for the job. This can be done in one paragraph - there is no need to go on and on for two pages - no one wants to read that!

You could say something like:

“I really enjoyed learning about your companies project on XXX and am very interested in working with you as XXX has been my primary focus for the last 5 years.”

Say anything you’d like but it’s best to tie your experience and your future goals right to the job being offered.

You should send the after interview thank you note out right after the interview - within a day or so and send it only to the person who set up the interview - there is no need to send it to everyone you talked to but be sure to mention them and than them for their time.
